Mohali, kulbir kalsi. The students of Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69,Mohali arranged a fantastic and superb send off (Farewell Party) function for the outgoing students of 10+2 in the school’s Campus. Cultural items were presented on this occasion and the event started with the Sabad in the praise of God. The farewell party titled “ADIOS AMIGOS” ie “Goodbye Friends” was hosted by the students of class 11 who are living in the AFPI ie The Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, Mohali where they are getting training in the defense forces as career under the aegis of Gen BS Grewal. This is an initiative of the Punjab govt to encourage the youth towards career in defence. These boys are currently preparing for the NDA exam in the institute and are pursuing their academic studies in Shemrock School. The function was graced by Chairman Mr.J.S.Bajwa and Principal Air Commodore SK Sharma . Amidst cheer and applause were ushered into the pandal and rose petals were showered on them. The function began with the performance of Deepshikha ceremony as a mark of respect for the Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of learning, which was followed by an entertainment programme comprising of a medley of songs by Yashwant, Nishant, Rajat, Mohit, Abhay and Harpreet which set the mood of the party. A humorous short skit was also presented by the students. Later there was a round of fun games including Musical Chairs and “Pehchaano Mai Kaun” which were much liked. Principal Air Commodore SK Sharma congratulated the outgoing students and impressed upon them the need of hard work, commitment, discipline, punctuality, foresight and said that quest for knowledge is a great boon in every sector and will remain as asset for the young managers of tomorrow. He urged the students to work assiduously to carve out their careers and climb the ladder of success to the greater heights of achievements. He said that patience, consistency, meticulous planning and farsightedness can take any young person to the excellent road of success. The cultural programme comprising skits, mono-acting and songs was interspersed with delightful modern and traditional dances. The comedy highlighted the role of professionally educated people in the modern day society. One minute games were arranged to fill thse moments with mirth and laughter. All the students were felicitated with souvenirs and gifts. Vote of thanks was proposed by the head girl Roop.

Deputized by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander blessed the official grand opening of "Manama, Capital of Arab Culture 2012". HRH expressed his pride indicating that it is an honour for the Kingdom of Bahrain which in turn reflects its cultural and historical, and modern presence of the people of Bahrain over the centuries. He also wished that this day is a day of happiness for all.

HRH expressed his thanks and appreciation on the participation of Royal Highnesses, dignitaries and officials from GCC and Arab countries in this celebration.

HRH also extended his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Culture Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa and all ministry employees on their noble efforts in celebrating Manama as the Capital of Arab Culture this year expressing with that his admiration for the outstanding artistic performance that projected the Bahraini heritage and the spirit of clinging on to hope in making Bahrain the pearl of the Gulf.

HRH thanked international establishments and organizations along with civic society establishments that had supported the success of this performance.

Meanwhile, the show that is the official opening ceremony of "Manama, Capital of Arab Culture 2012" included a modern performance entitled "Path of Pearls" that projects heritage and historical images in a modern way with a celebrative spirit.

On this occasion, Shaikha Mai extended her thanks and appreciation for the support and patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the official opening of Manama, Capital of Arab Culture 2012" and for the attendance of HRH Prince Salman and the continued support of the leadership for efforts exerted towards revitalizing culture and heritage.

She also affirmed the importance of this event in reflecting the modern reality Bahrain enjoys and embedding with it the spirit of love and peace through culture and art that is considered a joint language among all.

Shaikha Mai also highlighted the great efforts exerted both on regional and international level to promote Manama as the Capital of Arab Culture. 

 

The Kingdom of Bahrain is hosting the 14th Middle East Corrosion Conference 2012 during the period 12-15 February 2012. Minister of Energy of the Kingdom His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza said that, following the guidance of the wise leadership, to provide all facilities for all activities involving large numbers of interested people, specialists and stakeholders

The Kingdom is holding this event, which is considered to be one of the major exhibitions in the Middle East, for the 14^th time. The event provides a platform to exchange the expertise for people interested in combating the phenomenon of corrosion of metals in oil, gas, energy and other industries.

More than 70 companies from GCC, Asia, Europe, and North America are participating this year including an Indian company namely Ercon Composites.

 

 

अभिनेत्री दीया मिर्जा गांधी-नेहरू परिवार की बेटी प्रियंका गांधी की स्टाइल और उनके लुक पर फिदा हो गई हैं.

उनका कहना है कि प्रियंका के ड्रेसिंग सेंस से काफी प्रभावित हुई हैं.

'विल्स लाइफ स्टाइल इंडिया फैशन वीक' (डब्ल्यूआईएफडब्ल्यू) के पहले दिन दीया ने कहा, "प्रियंका गांधी अधिकतर समय अपने अंदाज में रहती हैं. उनका स्टाइल बहुत आसान व सहज है. मुझे उनकी यही बात सबसे ज्यादा पसंद है और मैं समझती हूं कि यह अपने आप में एक फैशन हैं."

दीया यहां डिजाइनर जोड़ी 'शांतनु एंड निखिल्स शो' में अतिथि के रूप में शामिल होने पहुंची थी.

दीया मिर्जा ने कहा, ‘‘जो चीज मुझे उनके बारे में अच्छी लगती है, वह यह है कि प्रियंका पूरी तरह से आत्मविश्वास से लबरेज और सादगी से रहती हैं. यह उनका फैशन स्टेटमेंट है.’’

वैसे जब से 30 वर्षीय दीया के रिश्ते फिल्म निर्माता साहिल सांगा के साथ सार्वजनिक हुए हैं, तभी से वह शादी को लेकर सवालों से घिरी हुई हैं. लेकिन उनकी मानें तो अभी उनकी जल्द शादी करने की कोई इच्छा नहीं है.

उनका कहना है, "हमारी शादी को लेकर काफी सारे कयास लगाए जा रहे हैं. मैंने हमेशा कहा है कि मैं एक प्रतिबद्ध रिश्ते में हूं लेकिन अभी हम शादी के बारे में नहीं सोच रहे हैं."
